Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
“I’m not a poet in any way, I’m not even a singer. I’m just a producer who’s ended up dressing up as a dinosaur and singing.”
With bouncing electro-house beats and a genre spanning archive of samples interwoven into his work, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (the masterplan of Orlando Higginbottom) has grown from a rebellious and disgruntled DJ set into a live performance that encorporates synths, samples, drum machines and live vocals. Oh, and an actual dinosaur costume.
It’s a restrained electro sound, held together with a house beat that shimmers with elements of colourful, polished disco. Hailing from the productive and fruitful city of Oxford and snapped up by Hot Chip’s Greco-Roman imprint they have released a handful of EPs and have toured Europe and Japan this year.
