Fractures

live

Freshly signed to Distiller Records, London rockers Fractures have found a wonderful middle ground between unadulterated grit and catchy melodies. Having topped our very own Amazing Chart last month with Nicotine, it’s a pleasure to have them headline our first Amazing Live of 2012.

BUIL DINGS

live

Another of the capital’s finest new bands, BUIL_DINGS’ music is as intricate as it is haunting. We first came across them in December last year, with their track Eyes On Sunrise proving to be an alluring, slow-burning example of why this band is turning so many heads.

Peter & Kerry

live

There was a collective “whoop” in the office last year when the marvellous Tape Club Records announced themselves on amazingtunes.com. One of their recent signings, Peter & Kerry, are a class act, with an album’s worth of timeless, folk-tinged anthems under their belts already. Prepare to be blown away.

Matthew Kilford

live

Swindonian singer-songwriter Matthew Kilford has wowed us with a couple of breath-taking EPs in the past 12 months and we’re very grateful to him for making the trip over from Wiltshire to open proceedings this time around. As well as being an incredible guitarist, his voice will have you melt.

Check out the Facebook event page. You can get tickets from wegottickets.com.

The Bull & Gate, Kentish Town, London

bull and gate

One of North London’s finest venues, with an ethos identical to our own; essentially they’re all about showcasing new music, and lots of it. As well as Amazing Radio, they’re now working regularly with Steve Lamacq, Ollie Russian, The 405 and Club The Moon to bring the freshest range of gigs in the capital. The beers are affordable, the staff are lovely, and you’re never more than a few seconds away from finding an undiscovered gem of a band through those grand double doors at the back of the pub. Nearest station: Kentish Town (serving the Northern Line, London Overground, Thameslink and First Capital Connect).
