Here at Amazing Radio we’re always looking to find you brand new and emerging talent to grace your ears and our airwaves.
Over the past couple of weeks the Amazing team have been revealing who they think you’ll be hearing more of throughout 2011. For the final installment of our 2011 Predictions, The Saturday Show‘s Colin Greaves and Matt Horne have shared who they think will be making a tuneful noise in the forthcoming year.
Colin’s ‘one to watch’ act for 2011 are former Amazing Radio chart toppers Vinyl Jacket. Colin writes:
“Vinyl Jacket have gained in confidence from the days of early track Isabella to later release, Broken Record, developing their sound in a uniquely creative way. 2011 sees the release of their new single Painting Stations, complete with music video. If creativity and enthusiasm are measures of success, these lads will be bigger than a musical Michael J. Fox”
Matt has chosen to place his new music faith in pop punk outfit Boy Jumps Ship. Matt says:
“Boy Jumps Ship are a four piece gathering of musical awesomeness straight out of Newcastle that are going to ‘smash’ 2011 like an empty snail shell. And it’s not just my ears they’ve made smile. The band have been gathering tonnes of glowing praise from the likes of Rock Sound and the American “bible” of alternative, Alternative Press. They’ve even graced The Amazing Sessions!
“Why am I saying they’re the next big thing? Because they know how to put together a kick ass rock tune with face melting power riffs that’s why. From the stupidly catchy sing a long chorus of Backstays and Halyards to the clap along intro of Don’t Be A Stranger, each song’s a hit waiting to happen. I’ve seen them play live twice now, which is more times than I saw the Beatles, and we all know how big they blew up to be.”
Tune into The Saturday Show this Saturday from 9am to hear Colin and Matt in action. You can find all of our 2011 Predictions here.
