There’s a bit of a virtual fight going on in cyberspace.

  1. I think … that post could become some kind of “Amazing FAQ” or “Alternative FAQ” on amazingradio site … :)

That’s a good thought. Aleksandrs. It’s really interesting (and rather depressing) how negative some people start off being towards what we’re doing. I’ve really puzzled over it. It’s almost as if there is so much mistrust and dishonesty in the music business, the default position is that everyone must be a crook – so you’re guilty until proven innocent. It’s ironic of course, since the whole point of amazing is to try to reverse the dishonesty and get rid of the rip-offs.

I think another issue is that our whole model is so different, it takes a while to get your head round it. (Hey, it took me about ten years before it all came into focus). I guess it’ll take time before people realise we have actually thought this through, and we’re not two kids in a garage.

The other side of the coin is the incredibly positive embracing of amazing by loads of other people. That’s the thing that sustains me when someone else starts accusing us of being children of satan, or mad, or dangerous to know. Mind you, every time I say ‘the reaction’s been incredible’ and ‘thank you’ to the well-wishers, someone on Digitasl Spy will say I’m gushing! Can’t win!

  2. There are lots of people out there on the internet , who will allways try to stop others doing something new … Not because they really think that the idea is bad … no … it is because they can not invent something by themselves …
Usually it doesn’t worth to even reply to them … :)

I’ve noticed that. People complain of the same old same old, so when something new comes along instead of praising it they condemn it. No matter what station I tune into, Radio 1, Absolute, Real – BFBS for pete’s sake! – it’s always the same type of music; pop, top 40, chart, feel-good. When digital radio came along they promised more choice. I got more choice – more of the same. Amazing Radio has finally made it worthwhile to buy a digital radio. Thank you.

HI Philip, Delighted you like it. Many thanks for the post. Paul

  4. Somehow I get the feeling that every time you refute one of Mr Bradshaw’s unfounded allegations, he’ll bounce back with another one, twisting your logic back on itself until it fits in with his tired old prejudices….

On another point, if I may, Paul — is there any chance of one of your future themestreams covering what may loosely be described as Roots music — Americana, country, blues, folk… you get my drift.

    Cheers,

    Malcolm

Hi Malcolm, Somehow I agree with you! Nice thought re roots etc., I’ll take a listen to what we already have in amazingtunes.com. Thanks for the suggestion, P
