It’s the end of our 6-month pilot for Amazing Radio one week today (i.e., on Monday 30th November). What do you think will happen next?
Will it be back to birdsong? Will Amazing keep going? If so, will it be the same? Will those cruel heartless people on Digital Spy who said ‘it’ll never last’ and ‘it’s not viable’ be proven triumphantly right? Will we be beaten by the combined forces of public apathy and BBC Introducing?
Not telling. Yet. We’ll spill the beans on the future for Amazing Radio …. if any ….. on Amazing Radio itself; at 1200 on Monday 30th November to be precise. Set your alarm.

I’ve been listening to Amazing for about a month now and think it’s fantastic, different and a great idea, and the website is great too. I hope you keep going.
Thanks so much for the comment. We really appreciate it. Paul

I’ve been a regular listener since the start of digital transmissions. What has impressed me is the diversity of music being broadcast and the fact that there is raw talent out there. There are genres of music that do not otherwise get any airplay, such as chilled out dance and ambient, and that appeals to me greatly. Simply put, Amazing has caused a stir within radio broadcasting and those who listen to it and it would be a crying shame if this were to be the end. Here’s hoping that this is just the start of successful broadcasting. Good luck, Paul, I understand some of the problems you’ve encountered and the work put in to overcome them.
Hey thanks Phil. In my next life, I don’t think I’ll launch a radio station in the teeth of a recession
– but it’s been utterly fantastic to see the reaction, it means a massive amount to us here. Thanks, Paul

I really hope it’s good news! Amazing Radio has got me enjoying listening to the radio again, without just the same old boring music that I’ve heard for years. Amazing Radio is, quite simply, the best thing on the air, as far as I’m concerned!
Wow. Thanks so much, Aimee. Paul

I’ve set my alarm on my trusty ipod touch Paul, and am thinking AMAZINGLY POSITIVE!
Thank God for the iPod touch. And I hope your positive instincts are amazingly prescient. Paul

Well, I hope it continues.
It’s become my default listening choice recently. A lot of good music, with the odd stinker thrown in now and again as a reminder of just how listenable the rest of it is! Unobtrusive presenters, regional segments, and no annoying commercials. It’s one of the few stations I can just leave playing all day. What more could one ask for?
Thanks Ted. I like the idea of welcoming ‘the odd stinker’! Paul

Hoping for good news on Monday. Since you started the trusty old digital radio has been permanently tuned to Amazing Radio. What a fantastic opportunity to listen to so much talent…. whether good, bad or ugly, it’s the listeners who decide.
I’ll be heartbroken if you go off air….. but will keep following amazing tunes……
Very best wishes…… Phil
Phil, thanks so much for the feedback. We really really appreciate it. Whatever happens, please keep listening! ATB, Paul

Hearing one of your own songs played on the radio is one of those amazing moments. Amazing Radio gave me that moment.
I hope this great station keeps on going so that it can give that moment to so many more !
Good luck……Don
Thanks Don. We’ve had loads of comments like yours, it’s so fantastic to read them and imagine what it felt like when you heard your song on the air for the first time. (Although, as a drummer, it’s not an experience I’ll ever really share!) All the best, Paul

Oh, no – shock, horror – Amazing Radio, you MUST stay on air (and commercial-free). You’re the only chance we’ve got to listen to some cool new music that is mostly really good to listen too. WE turn to your station around mid-morning after we don’t need to listen to traffic and weather reports anymore; in the afternoon over a cuppa; in the evening during cooking and then, later, during dishwashing (not done by robots, but our own fair hands); and generally, really, when we are sick and tired of all the trite and commercial stations. Please stay – and stay the way you are. You are lovely and perfect!
So are you!! Thanks Martina. Here’s to the moment of truth on Monday. PC

Amazing Radio I couldn’t help thinking of that Mamas & Papas Classic
“Monday Monday”
Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn’t guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
I really hope you will be so we will be able to hear more from artists like Don Alexander (Hi Don)
I think you win the clever comment of the week prize, James! PC

I have also become a regular listener. It is such a refreshing change from the muck on some of the commercial stations.
I have also been spreading the word! I look forward to hearing that you are going to be going on and on and on
Thanks Pat, it’s really kind of you to write. This time tomorrow, all will be revealed. PC
