It’s that time of year again, and if, like us you’re a fan of live comedy you’ll be itching to head north with all the funniest people from the UK and beyond to set up camp in one of our loveliest cities for some giggles and a good time. That’s right – it’s time for the Edinburgh Fringe once again!
As we’ve spoken to so many lovely comedians in the last year, Team Amazing Breakfast thought we’d give you a guide to what all our favourite funny people are up to in the festival this year. Not wanting to play favourites, we’ll do it in chronological order, naturally – so here, in the order we’ve spoken to them over the last year, is what some of our favourite folks are up to in Edinburgh this August.
—
Tony Jameson
Ben Van Der Velde & Matt Richardson
Jim Campbell & Luke Benson
Naz Osmanoglu
The man we’ve spoken to with the most difficult to pronounce name has to be Naz Osmanoglu who’ll be doing not one but TWO shows – his own solo effort 1000% Awesome and one with his sketch group WitTank so go see both and make him a happy man.
Jeff Leach
We spoke to the very funny Jeff Leach ahead of his compering and curating comedy events at Oxjam Kilburn last year, his show A Leach On Society promises ‘an unrelenting and gratuitous insight into his sordid private life‘ – so don’t say we didn’t warn you. Full details here.

Every Sunday, Charlie Ashcroft counts down the Amazing Radio Chart. Here he is to give us the lowdown on this week’s movers and shakers from amazingtunes.com.
Hello! Been a while since I’ve written the following phrase, but “it’s all change at the top of the Amazing Radio Chart.”
I know, right? After four weeks at Number 1, Kyla La Grange has been knocked off the top spot by Californians Youngblood Hawke.

New at Number 1: Youngblood Hawke
Not only does the success of their song Rootless ensure that the band become the first American act to top our rundown since the Chart show started last summer, but after seven weeks inside the Top 20, the track also goes down as one of the longest ever climbers to Number 1, having first come onto the radar back in June.
Slightly further down, Londoners Bastille and Brighton four-piece Fear of Men continue their climbs inside the Top 5, while Red Kite, Killing Fields of Ontario and BRAIDS have all jumped into the Top 10 for the very first time.
It’s a record week for New Entries, with a grand total of 7 (SEVEN, Vidiprinter fans) newbies inside the Top 20 this week. Birmingham trio Johnny Foreigner lead the pack at Number 12, just ahead of Oklahoma noiseniks Colourmusic and London three-piece Strangers.

Highest New Entry at Number 12: Johnny Foreigner
Elsewhere, we’ve seen new arrivals from The Spills, Rae Morris, Dark Dark Horse and Channel Swimmer to round things off very nicely.

Hello! Hope you had a belter of a weekend. In the midst of it all, we witnessed Kyla La Grange hang on to the Number 1 spot with Been Better. That makes four weeks on top for Kyla now, meaning she’s one week away from equalling her previous record of most weeks spent at Number 1 on the Amazing Radio Chart.

4 weeks at Number 1: Kyla La Grange
Californians Youngblood Hawke remain close behind at Number 2, with Australian band The Jezabels now having climbed into the Top 3 for the very first time.
Manchester-based Scots Mayhew and Brighton four-piece Fear of Men are also up to their highest positions to date after some decent upward momentum in recent weeks, while Londoners AlunaGeorge are up five places to this week’s Number 6 with Make No Mistake.

Highest New Entry in the Top 20: Killing Fields of Ontario
Five New Entries this week too – Killing Fields of Ontario have the highest-placed of them all with the country-tinged stomper Tired Of Being A Man having landed at Number 11, while other new arrivals inside the Top 20 come from Jethro Fox, Red Kite, The Neat and BRAIDS.

As official media-partner of Festibelly, Amazing Radio are psyched to have the exclusive announcement on this year’s headliner! Drum roll: NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB! *Fireworks!* “Ooohh.”

You may remember such excellent New Young Pony Club hits as Ice Cream and The Bomb. Their 2010 album The Optimist was described by the NME as “liquid nitrogen-fuelled pure pop genius.” Festibelly are pretty excited too and had this to say: “They’re a perfect headline act for Festibelly, with sing-along pop anthems to disco dance-floor fillers. We’re honoured to have them and pretty ruddy excited to see them in action on the Festibelly stage!”
Festibelly is a lush one day/one night festival that takes place in the gorgeous New Forest. The festival prides itself on an intimate, carefree and friendly vibe (they know we’re bringing Colin and Matt right?)
Broadcasting live from the Festibelly site, Amazing Radio will be providing as-it-happens coverage of the festival, live sessions and interviews and all the latest news and info in the run up to the event.
Festibelly have also announced a whole host of ace artists which will grace the various stages across the day. You’ll notice a few familiar names including our current number one Kyla la Grange, genius producer Channel Swimmer and Dimbleby and Capper.
Tickets are available… wait for it… now!
Keep listening to Amazing Radio for more news and updates.
Here’s the part where we copy and paste the press release:

Every Sunday, Charlie Ashcroft counts down the Amazing Radio Chart. Here he is to give us the lowdown on this week’s movers and shakers from amazingtunes.com.
Hello! It’s all change at the top of the Amazing Radio Chart again this week, with ALPINE’s reign having come to an end after just one week. It just so happens that, in a week where the Chart show has celebrated its first birthday, the Melbourne sextet have been replaced by a singer who’s achieved something that no other artist from amazingtunes.com has ever managed in the show’s history.
Having reached Number 1 with her song Walk Through Walls back in March, Kyla La Grange becomes the first act to hit the top spot in our rundown with two successive releases. Her new single, Been Better, released next week on Chess Club Records, has climbed six places to reach the top of our chart after just three weeks inside the Top 20.

Brand new at Number 1: Kyla La Grange
You can also catch her playing The Amazing Sessions for us this week. Tune in to the Chris Martin show tomorrow from 10am to hear two tracks from Kyla’s set at Blank Studios.
Swedish duo Adam & Alma remain in contention at Number 2, just ahead of ALPINE, Hyde & Beast and Dizraeli & The Small Gods inside the Top 5.
Slightly further down, there are climbs for Mammal Club and The Travelling Band, while The Jezabels and The Spires have entered the Top 10 for the very first time.

Highest New Entry: Youngblood Hawke
In the mad world of New Entries, Californians Youngblood Hawke have the highest-placed at Number 14 with Rootless, while we also welcome Sheffield’s Hey Sholay to the Top 20, sandwiched between a pair of great Canadian bands, Hey Rosetta! and Said The Whale.

As some of you may already know, we’ve had a record month for uploads here on amazingtunes.com, with over forty thousand tracks now available, the quality of which has been unreal. Along with artists that are brand new to us all here at Amazing HQ, we’ve also been joined by some of our very own favourite bands, courtesy of the lovely folk at MoshiMoshi Records.
If you’re unaware of Moshi’s work to date then how’s this for a roster of artists: http://www.moshimoshimusic.com/artists/
The investigative amongst you will no doubt have noticed the ‘big names’ included on that list, past and present, along with others who are ‘on the brink’ as it were. Far more importantly than that though, you’ll notice that each of those listed is responsible for creating the kind of good honest pop music that more often than not leads the way in whichever genre they then become aligned with.
Always passionate, always different, generally a little leftfield – there are far worse ways to spend your time than listening through the tracks on their profile.
Having begun it’s life 13 years ago now, primarily as more of a hobby by owner and creator Stephen Bass, this then turned into a partnership with Michael McClatchey; one that has adapted and expanded along with it’s artists many times over the years – I know what you’re thinking – sounds like your fairly standard label startup – the difference with Moshi being that they’ve done all of this whilst managing to retain the ethos with which it started. From their very first single releases to their debut album outputs, the clubnights, dj sets and consistently respectful artist/label relationships; they’ve set the standard for DIY enthusiasts every step of the way.
Highlights from their tracks here on amazingtunes.com would have to be the likes of CasioKids, TrophyWife, The Wave Pictures and one of their more recent additions – the brand new Slow Club single ‘Two Cousins‘ – the video for which you can see here at their recently revamped website.
You can learn more about MoshiMoshi and it’s two brand new sub labels ‘Not Even’ and ‘Tender Age’ by listening out for an interview with Stephen himself on The Bethan Elfyn Show tonight from 7pm.
In short, the main thing you need to remember is that MoshiMoshi only put out music they fully believe in, regardless of the trends that surround them. The main constant being that the four person team are there from the outset – finding new music, supporting new artists, doing all they can to make sure other people become as invested in that band as they are themselves. Something that we here at Amazing are proud to support.

Every Sunday, Charlie Ashcroft counts down the Amazing Radio Chart. Here he is to give us the lowdown on this week’s movers and shakers from amazingtunes.com.
Hello! It’s all change at the top of the Amazing Radio Chart this week, with Adam & Alma’s reign having come to an end after three weeks. New chart-toppers ALPINE hail from Melbourne and have generated plenty of buzz in their native Australia recently, helped by live support slots for Cloud Control and The Naked & Famous. Their track Villages has hit our Number 1 spot after four weeks inside the Top 20.

Our new chart-toppers: Australian six-piece ALPINE
The rest of the Top 5 takes on a pretty familiar look this week, with Adam & Alma and Dizraeli & The Small Gods both slipping a place ahead of non-movers from Polarsets and Clock Opera.
Slightly further down, Vukovi, Kyla La Grange, Mammal Club and The Spires have continued their respective climbs up the rankings, while Yorkshire rockers The Sorry Kisses have the Highest New Entry at Number 17 with Sunstorms.

Highest New Entry in the Top 20: The Sorry Kisses
Other new arrivals in the lower reaches of the Top 20 this week come from Sydney four-piece The Jezabels and Madrid collective Polock.

Every Sunday, Charlie Ashcroft counts down the Amazing Radio Chart. Here he is to give us the lowdown on this week’s movers and shakers from amazingtunes.com.
Hello! In a week where nine of the tracks in the Amazing Radio Chart Top 10 are climbers, you’d have thought the odds were stacked against Adam & Alma staying at Number 1 for third week with Smile For Me, Sun, wouldn’t you? Well, the Swedish duo have fought against the odds, holding off all the other upwardly mobile competition to make it a hat-trick on top.

3 weeks at Number 1: Adam & Alma
Dizraeli & The Small Gods are the Swedes’ closest competitors this week, with Reach Out having risen to its highest position to date, just ahead of ALPINE, Polarsets and Clock Opera inside the Top 5.
Slightly further down, Hyde & Beast have climbed to Number 8 having been one of last week’s New Entries, while there are returns to the Top 10 for Amazing Radio Chart veterans in the form of Cashier No 9, Vukovi and Daughter.

Brand new at Number 10: Mammal Club
Mammal Club have the Highest New Entry with Otter having landed at Number 10, while James Owen Fender, Kyla La Grange, The Spires and The Submarines have all jumped into the Top 20 this week too.
