Christmas Eves

This year Amazing Radio has welcomed Bethan Elfyn, Gill Mills, Dani Charlton and Ruth Barnes to its presenting team alongside Amazing Breakfast mainstay, Georgie Rogers. To celebrate, we’re devoting Christmas Eve to the girls at the station.

The full schedule on Amazing Radio is as follows:

At the heart of Christmas Eves is Ruth Barnes, who brings her show, The Other Woman, to an afternoon slot where she will be speaking to Sound Women – the organisation dedicated to exposing the gender gap in radio. It’s fitting that The Other Woman is the only radio show in the UK with an all-female playlist.

The gender gap in media has been brought to light recently, in part thanks to the Sound Women movement. In many cases the male to female ratio of radio presenters is embarrassing with reports suggesting that only 2% of BBC local breakfast shows are presented by a solo female. Amazing Radio bucks the trend with a growing roster of women at the station in all capacities.
