Guest Mix
S.A Fred
14/04/12 & 20/04/12

S.A. Fred is fast becoming a quarterly resident on the show. Always centred around I.D.M this mix takes many twists and turns though broken beat, techno and weirdly a little DnB. This is the perfect electronica antidote to a stressful day. Listen again here.
Solipsism
23/03/12 & 30/03/12

Solipsism is Craig Murphy, an Experimental Musician and Recording Artist from Glasgow in Scotland. His cross-genre style incorporates elements of Ambient, Techno, IDM, Electro and Experimental Music. This is the second time he has provided us with a set and was recorded live at the Black Sparrow in Glasgow. The music used are all his own productions. Listen again here.
MJ Fitz
09/03/12 & 16/03/12

MJ Fitz has been a firm favourite of both the show and you guys, in the past he has done very well in our chart also. His take on a progressive tech house style always has a keen eye on melody whilst maintaining a dark and deep sense of mood. Essentially proper club music. Recently he has started another project under the guise of Man Solo that is more dubbed electronica in nature. This mix is 30 minutes of his own productions but also includes tracks from People Get Real, Scuba and the wonderful Caribou. Listen again here.
Stumbleine
17/02/12 & 24/02/12

It was a long time coming but we finally got a hold of Bristol’s Stumbleine for a well deserved outing on the show. We’ve been enamored by Stumbleine’s glitchy electronica meets downtempo garage vibe since we first wrapped our ears around ‘Bloom’ last year. The chilled out beats and cut-up vocal samples had us gushing all sorts of over-the-top adjectives both on air and online in an attempt to describe how much we love it. You will too.
Red Sky Lullaby
27/02/12 & 03/02/12

Stuart Kilbride returns to the guest mix. He has been making music under various names since the early 1990’s. He’s had releases on labels such as Avex Records, Millenium Records, Ambient Soho, 2Kool Records, Worm Interface and Alien Intelligence Records. Under the guise of Red Sky Lullaby he creates epic yet down tempo ambient, dub, and melodic chill out always with a keen eye on engaging and interesting broken beat. Red Sky Lullaby is also a collaborative project between Stuart (Instruments and Production) and various talented vocalists. Listen again to this stunning 30 minute mix again.
Iron Blue
06/01/12 & 13/01/12

Iron Blue, self described as Deep/Dub/Psychetropic/Jackin’ and label boss of Full Tone Recordings makes his first appearance on the amazing guest mix. I think this 30 mins can be best described as a subtle blend of styles ranging from a post new order feel mixed with an early Kitsune sound and an additional sprinkle of the tiefschwarz, all slowed down to create a really hypnotic groove. All tracks are self produced and includes Fantasy Rainbow/Channel 4/Lincoln Meadow/Emerald City/Orange Sunshine and Elliptic Soul. Listen again here.
JStudio
23/12/11 & 30/12/11

JStudio was the first contributor of the Amazing Beats guest mix in 2011 so we thought we would get him back in to close the year. This is a 30 minute mix of all his own material and is a subtle blend of melodic electronica, funked up house music with a twist of acid influence. Great structure in design and mixed to perfection. Listen again here.
S.A Fred
18/11/11 & 25/11/11

For his third outing as part of the guest mix S.A. Fred returns with another sublime journey through I.D.M. The mix starts with subtle electronic melody and almost sinister. Live jazz influenced percussion half way through blends into an almost erratic broken beat direction and then back into the chilled arena to finish. For fans of AWESOME electronica. Listen again.
Rene Beer
11/11/11 & 18/11/11

The guest mix goes International again and this time Zagreb Croatia. Mixed by Peter Ryan this is an out and out journey through all the best in deep house. Sonically brilliant in electronic melody and always with an imaginative eye on beat patterns this is a fine show case of a man who in recent months has dominated the Amazing Beats chart. Listen again here.
Electromagnetic Impulses
28/10/11 & 04/11/11

Electromagnetic Impulses has been a big player in the last year of Amazing Beats consistently laying down all styles of DnB. Recently the label EML Recordings has provided us with new talent in the liquid sub genre and we are happy to finally show case the labels direction. Listen again here.
Digital Justice
14/10/11 & 21/10/11

Vinyl Related Records label boss Kristian Smith otherwise known as Digital Justice, Dark Emotion and Just Another Alias has taken to the guest mix to showcase some of his really early material. This 30 minute mix has a real sense of broken beat mixed with d&b with a jungle influence. Classic Drum & Bass tracks from 1997-2008 when he was known as DVP. The mix is concluded with the new release track Damn That. Listen again here.
People Get Real
30/09/11 & 07/10/11

In 2011 the pairing of Simon Lister and Peter Wilson have continued to play some of the finest parties in the UK as residents of the mighty Wax-On and recently played Hide Out festival (Croatia) and Global Gathering. Their label Join Our Club records is going from strength to strength with some very intelligent tracks crossing the boundaries of disco, house and techno. Listen again here to their 30 min mix showcasing the labels release. Also keep your eyes peeled as People Get Real are set to Rock the WHP 2011
Dan Price
16/09/11 & 23/09/11

Absorb Vs Sequel
02/09/11 & 09/09/11

In recognition of the recent remix competition winner Sequel, we are showcasing a mix they did for us back in 2010. This was one of the first amazing guest mixes we ever put out and it still sounds as fresh now as it did then. Absorb Vs Sequel lay down the Guest mix in their destinctive ‘No Step’ style. Listen again here.
Solipsism
19/08/11 & 26/08/11

Solipsism’s Live Set recorded at Tronic in the 13th Note Club, Glasgow, on the 29th of July 2011. This is a melodic journey of ups and downs through techno. Dreamy low points of melody then into pulsating looped techy beats. Imagine that repeated over and over and over. Brilliant. Listen again here.
City West Records
05/08/11 & 12/08/11

Label boss Dave Nicholson lays down a 30 minute mix of artists on the City West Records roster. It’s a really nice, dark and low slung tech driven house which subtly blends into a cloudy industrial techno sound reminiscent of the early 90’s Detroit sound and more recently the output from a lot of German based artists. If your familiar with the dj / producer Marcel Dettmann and the out put of Ostgun Ton then you will absolutely love this. Artists include NAM Soundsytem, Miss N and Daavneeq himself. Listen again.
Planet Raiders
22/07/11 & 29/07/11

Planet Raiders are an electronic producer duo from Hampshire, England. Their love of early electo, P-Funk, chip music and 80′s computer games really show in their electro funk sound and they can be found on the Jag label. This 30 min mix however is out and out Electro Filth. Enjoy.
S.A Fred
08/07/11 & 15/07/11

Hot on the heels of his first outing as part of the guest mix S.A. Fred returns with another sublime journey through I.D.M. The mix starts with subtle broken beat, is very moody in the electronic melody and almost sinister. Live jazz influenced percussion half way through blends into an almost laid back liquid drum and bass feel to finish. For fans of AWESOME electronica. Listen again here.
QUBA
10/06/11 & 17/06/11

To coincide with new releases from the Hungarian we decided to give his guest mix another spin. For this guest mix he floats in and out of an underground, funky to progressive House sound with a distinctive Tech House feel. Quba also strategically places tracks from his own back catalogue to give the mix that depth which is so evident in his own production. Listen again here.
