“I was in a little-known dream-pop combo called ‘Cocteau Twins’ in the 80s and 90s and then shaved my head, trained in martial arts, and became a shaolin monk. After several years in Tibet, I returned to the Isles; initially the Isle of Sheppey, then on the Isle of Dogs, and finally then the Isle of Harris. Forming a record label was a good idea at the time as records were still a good idea. Bella Union signs bands of dubious character and we find this works best. I listen to a lot of new music, and feel I can bring a lot to Amazing Radio.”
Simon is a label boss of great repute and is no stranger to Amazing Radio having appeared as a well versed guest on It’s Amazing and featured talking all things Bella Union during Independents’ Week. Expect forthright opinion, great music and welcoming host, every Monday from 7pm.
